CURRENCY AND TRADE

In harsh times the hardy folk that populate the Ev'won valley and the Fort within must work together to thrive. Limited space and hostile roaming bands of infected long ago laid waste to the surrounding farmlands, thus foraging and fishing are the main sources of food for the people who live here.

Hunting is not unheard of, but deer and elk that once populated the lush valley long ago fled the dead and the sound of musket and cannon fire. Rabbits and small birds or rodents are the only red meat typically found in the valley in recent months, but the town's cooks make hearty stews. Those wishing to test their luck should seek lands far from town where rabbits still forage.

Fishing is the main means of feeding the town. Dishes including raw or smoked fish, soups and stews, and salads with seaweed are popular in Fort Ev'won. Heavy use of pepper, lemons, and sea salt are common.

Those wishing to sell fish or simply sustain themselves should find cozy coves and beaches where local fishermen have already set up poles they come and check regularly, as these savvy anglers have had to learn the best locations to survive.

Foraging is recently growing in frequency as other sources are depleted and once-tilled land now grows wild.  Corn that survives in old fields and gardens still remains, seemingly elusive of the few rodents that still scavenge the area right along with townsfolk and refugees.

All of these things add up and are available for anyone to try their hand at. Those who are successful may find themselves selling off their extra take for profits. Trade goods can be exchanged with other players or turned into a Game Master for their equivalent in coin. All items have a "Value:[#]" listed in the discription.
